About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To grow roots and live my life with meaning and passion

ABOUT ME

About me?

PHILOSOPHY

The only thing constant is change, and so in order to be open to the infinite world of possiblity and opportunity, I try to trust in the universe, remind myself to stay in the present moment and to except everything as it is. I am exactly where I need to be!

Also... let's just enjoy life! We need more light and laughter in this world, how amazing it is!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

CS has been a great help to me in a number of ways, especially because I often move from place to place. It's great for finding locals or travellers to meet up with, surfing (obviously!), and occasionally finding longer term accomodation in group posts. I like to offer my couch when I can and attend some CS events.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience of CS was in Morocco when I did it with a friend and it was by far one of the best travelling experiences I have ever had. We learnt so much more about the culture than we would have in hostels, got to see some hidden gems that only the locals would know about, and met some great people. Since then I have surfed in several other places and also hosted a few times too. Each time a different and really rewarding experience.

Interests

Things that really interest me are yoga, vegetarian cooking, travel, trekking/hiking, coffee and cafe culture, medicinal plants and ayurveda, Spanish language, art/drawing/photography, writing...

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - The Alchemist, Marching Powder, lots more which I can't think of the name sorry!

Movies - Donnie Darko, where the wild things are, Into the wild, Indiana Jones, the dark crystal, gremlins, harry potter, phew so many more!

Music - Lots of Indie bands, Spanish and Latino bands.... in particular I love asgeir, Tool, calle 13, Angus and Julia Stone, smashing pumpkins, temper trap, a perfect circle, presets, balkan beat box, fat freddy's drop, the gossip, fleetwood mac...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in Granada, Spain was by far the most magical and inspiring place I have been with beautiful people, flamenco, artists, tapas, and of course, the alhambra ! I had so many amazing experiences in such a short time, and went through a huge personal change there... I love Granada!
Also I am very in love with Guatemala and Mexico, their strong cultures, people and beliefs, their beuatiful naturaleza, and of course the food. I have spent a long time in both countries and believe there is a lot to be learnt here, if not from their current situation then certainly from their history... the Mayan calendar and traditions are incredibly interesting and worth studying, we can learn alot from them.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like sharing and learning vegetarian cooking tips and recipes. I also enjoy sharing travel advice, especially where find the good places to go walking/hiking, and where to find the best food and a decent coffee!
