About Me

Travelling the world!
In my spare time I like to keep fit and active by going to the gym, dancing and walking dogs, who in my opinion are far superior to humans! I like going out dancing and drinking with anyone I meet, I believe this is the way to get to know someone.

I am on a big trip right now, going through Europe, South East Asia and then going to work in Australia. Living my dream! My favourite place so far has to be The Netherlands, when I stayed there it felt like a second home. I would love to hear any tips or advice from any fellow travellers. I always find personal recommendations so much better than googling something.

I'm a very easy going person and will go with the flow of whatever is happening at the time, easy to please and happy with people or on my own. I also feel I am courteous and want to help as much as I can, I can't stand the idea of taking with no giving, its not natural to me. (so c'mon give me a few chores :P)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to meet the locals of the places I'm going to, to enjoy a drink or a trip if they have the time and experience new cultures, learn new languages, share awesome food, and when I get settled give this all back!

Interests

When I am travelling I am deeply interested in the history of places, what happened before I was there, old buildings, stories from the past. I love adventure type travel, I have done skydives, ziplines, ropes courses, whitewater rafting, surfing, hiking, camping in the past and wish to do more!

I'm also vegetarian so enjoy going out to eat places with this theme, although I am pretty terrible at cooking I will try and have managed to master a few pasta dishes, stir frys, simple stuff. I love fresh fruit and veg and I think it's the best thing to eat!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite book is usually the last book I've read, but the ones that mostly stick out to me are The Time Travellers Wife and The Handmaids Tale, The DaVinchi Code, but I enjoy any kind of historical biography, contemporary fiction and biographies!

Movies I like anything except horrors, anything that makes you think or changes your way of thinking, and ofcourse, anything disney! I enjoy series too, I can watch Rick and Morty again and again! Doctor Who, anything historical again, especially about the monarchy! I enjoy watching documentaries about travel and nature too!

Music is my favourite thing in the world and I wish to attend more music festivals in the future as I've only been to Leeds Festival in England. The dream would be Glastonbury one year! I like the charts a lot, but also enjoy american folk, funk, oldies, rock.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Raised £1000 to go away from Raleigh International and work in rural communities in Nicaragua for 10 weeks, I did a sky dive for this.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help anyone looking to improve there English, I have spent most of my adult life with non native speakers so am very food at helping, understanding etc! Anything to do with alcohol I know, the many years spent in the hospitality industry means I can show you how to make any cocktail and the whole process of beer, rum, wine and vodka.

I am so fascinated in other cultures and wish to learn as much as possible about how you do things! Also any other languages I can learn is a plus! Local food is good to know about too! Learning is my favourite thing to do, so teach me what you like!

Let's share a drink, a game of cards, travel experiences, cooking tips!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a deck of cards, drinks, my cocktail making expertise, book/music/film recommendations.

I am happy to help with everything, cooking, cleaning, shopping, walking your dog?? I can try and cook you some british dishes if you are interested! May need to consult an online recipe though...
