About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Applying to Masters programs abroad in orchestral conducting and learning Spanish.
ABOUT ME
Recently finished my degree in music in Waterloo, Ontario. I finally did an exchange in Germany for a year and it's changed my life forever. I've always wanted to travel and after last year, it's ALL I want to do now. Now that I'm done I hope to relocate to the UK and pursue a career in conducting. Otherwise I love good times; nothing is more enjoyable to me than a great conversation with a friend over beers. I love to read, play and see live music, meet strange people and recently I have a new passion for learning languages.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that education and learning are the key to happiness. That you have to work hard for what you want. Always be kind to others and never omit negativity. I believe the environment is our number one concern. And I believe that you should always be actively learning.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've come to realize how much couch surfing is less about finding a free place to stay than it is about staying with people of all shapes and varieties who almost always have so much to teach you and share with you. I wish I lived in a more interesting place so that I could host people more often.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had the opportunity to stay with some amazing people on my journeys. One of my favourites was staying with the sister of a friend in Paris who was a culinary genius, who made us delicious French food and took us to all the great places to eat in Paris. I love sleeping on floors, with crazy cats and trilingual toddlers and have crashed couches across Ontario, Quebec, France, Ireland, Spain, and Germany.
Interests
I like to think I have many different interests, the biggest at the moment being travelling and meeting people from other countries, as well as learning new languages, reading, drinking beer and of course making and listening to music. I love art, history, movies (tonnes of movies!), partying and just always having as good of a time as possible while helping other people do the same. Environmental issues are very important to me as well, and I've recently discovered I love to conduct orchestras.

Music, Movies, and Books
I play in orchestras and love classical music. Anything Tchaikovsky, Chopin, or Rachmaninov is great in my books. I grew up going to punk and hardcore shows and love bands like Gorilla Biscuits, Cursed and Fucked Up. Neutral Milk Hotel is my favourite band but there's a huge variety in my itunes and I love it this way. Recently I'm into a lot of Spanish and Latin American music.
Books I've read recently: Great Expectations, Anna Karenina, Wuthering Heights, Flow. In the middle of Portrait of a Lady.
Some favourite movies: Paris' je t'aime, Joyeux Noel, Forrest Gump, the Pianist, L'Auberge Espagnole , A Very Long Engagement, Ghostbusters, Space Jam
Favourite shows: Skins, Downton Abbey, American Horror Story, Shameless, Modern Family, Game of Thrones, Mad Men
