Overview
About Me
I grew up in Texas but boldly moved on my own to Crested Butte, Colorado, at 18. There, I actually hosted some couchsurfers from around the world; I only recently decided to try it again after recommendations. After years of living in the Rocky Mountains, being a part of wonderful community, and a lot of personal growth, I moved the Salt Lake City. W great life changes, I found myself spontaneously fulfilling a dream of being in Africa for a stint, both South Africa and Mozambique- mostly in the wilderness in a scientific research camp; being more globally oriented, I was planning to live in the UK for a time, when found myself back in Texas with the pandemic- where I live now. I both work and am a student remotely and am excited to travel more, now! I love going on adventures, good food, and connecting. Being wired toward personal growth, I am very passionate about things like character and compassion, and I am driven since I was a child toward living and loving as fully as I can- fueled by feuded by a strong awareness of the brevity of being here and in awe of being alive and in this world. I love people and want nothing more than to constantly be more free so I may be of service in the best way I can and really experience being alive and together.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am so passionate about traveling and connecting with good people as I do, and the ability to stay with locals who are opening their home so generously and potentially have an even better experience of a new place is of great interest to me. While I love to stay with locals on airbnb, I used hosted some couchsurfers in my early 20's, and someone recently recommended I try couchsurfing again in my travels soon. I am interested in exploring this alternative option as a way to budget better and connect more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spontaneously went to South Africa when everything fell apart, because I knew I had to- no matter how scared and overwhelmed. Later on the trip making a road trip across South Africa happen, with a virtual stranger- for the same reasons. I was reclaiming my independence and who I was- saving myself, and I would relive it all in a heart beat. During the hardest time, really trusting that life was happening for me not to me, and showing up to it.
Teach, Learn, Share
“People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances with our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.” ― Joseph Campbell,
What I Can Share with Hosts
Kindness, cooking and baking, honesty, respect, and connection- hopefully a laugh. I am always looking to interview people for their stories, on a project called World Song that honors the story of a life- the interconnection, lessons, and uniqueness of each, so if that is something you would be interested in, let me know.
