About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to do things that will later make great stories.

ABOUT ME

I'm 20 years old, a native Californian transplanted in New Jersey to go to college. I have three years left in my undergrad, then I'll take a couple years off to travel and experience the world for a while before I head back to school for my PhD in Cultural Anthropology. I can only live once, so I'm trying to do it my way. I'm always scheming new methods of cheap travel, and for long periods of time. If you have any ideas, please let me know! I'm all ears, all the time.

PHILOSOPHY

Youth is wasted on the young, who don't realize how able-bodied they were until they're old and gray. Not me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My couches are open, even though they're very small. I have two roommates, my best friends, and we're all friendly and pretty relaxed people. Though we don't have much space for more than two or so surfers, I'd love to meet up with you in the tri-state area if you think you'd like a tour guide.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Although it wasn't worked out through the CS website, I lived in a camper for ten days in Puerto Rico which inspired me to embark on even more surfing adventures. I look forward to having more surfing experiences around the world.

Interests

Art, music, learning, anthropology, culture, languages, color, literature, writing, climbing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, new things, old things, altered states, sober states, train rides, airplanes, rivers, camping, getting dirty, and spending my academic career diving into the truth about organics and sustainable living. Oh yeah, and I've been riding horses since before I could walk, and I've been competitive for upwards of fourteen years.

Music, Movies, and Books

On the Road, Into the Wild, and Lolita.
Grateful Dead, Modest Mouse, and Bon Iver.
Trainspotting, Pan's Labyrinth, and I Heart Huckabees.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen the entire California coast, from San Diego to San Francisco, in three days by car.
Took part in a city-wide music festival in honor of the summer solstice in Paris.
Saw over an hour's worth of fireworks on St. John the Baptist day in Florence.
I guess it depends on how you define amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

As far as practical skills go, I'm pretty good at Spanish and I'm hoping to teach languages in the future. One of my sources of income are teaching people to ride horses, so if the resources were available I'd love nothing more than to teach you how to work with horses.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Greece, Italy, Puerto Rico, United Kingdom
