Overview
About Me
I am a 22 year old Australian student who is currently travelling Europe. I am living in Austria until January on student exchange and trying to make the most of this amazing place before I leave. I'm always keen to meet new people and learn about their cultures!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My favourite memories of travelling are the people you meet along the way, especially the locals who know exactly where to get the best coffee, traditional food, and generally how to experience life in their city. However, when you are staying in hostels all the time or don't have friends who are local to the city, I feel that I often miss out on all this because I'm stuck in my tourist bubble! I would really love to see a local side to Europe on the tail-end of my journey, as well as share a little of my Australian culture with you :)
Interests
I really enjoy travelling (obviously!) and spend most of my travel time searching out the best food and coffee available. I really enjoy bike riding, swimming, hiking - basically anything that lets me see the outside world and nature. I'm also a budding art enthusiast and am trying to learn as much as I can about different art styles while I'm still in Europe. Mainly, I enjoy a good chat on most conversation topics and am always up for a political/historical/social discussion.

Music, Movies, and Books
To be honest I like most types of music, movies and books - so long as it has a good beat/story I am very happy. My favourite type of music is 'hipster folk rock' type music, such as Mumford and Sons, Boy and Bear and Bon Iver. I'm currently reading On the Road by Jack Kerouac which is amazing, and I'm always on the look out for new suggestions.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last year I spent a week in Kigali, Rwanda on a study tour about the 1994 genocide. This week was spent travelling across the country, meeting with survivors, visiting new local charity initiatives, and paying our respects at memorials. It was a confronting time, but I think I will always hold that as my most valuable travel experience (so far)!
Teach, Learn, Share
I am great at English practice! I'm keen to learn most things about other countries - small phrases, culture, traditions, recipes!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am fun and enjoy socialising - I hope to get to know you while living in your home. However, I am very good at entertaining myself and having some downtime, so there is no need to feel like a babysitter with me in your house :)
