Overview
About Me
I've been writing and performing music since I was very young. I love connecting with people who are also passionate about music.
I play numerous instruments including guitar, piano, ukulele, bass, and a few other things. I have released a number of self-produced albums. The next few months I will be recording my first professionally recorded solo album!
I have lived in the Finger Lakes region of New York State mostly all of my live. I am LGBTQ+ friendly and am accepting of other individual's beliefs in faith, but I don't follow a religion myself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I was recommended to try Couchsurfing by a good friend of mine who both hosts and travels. I have had a lot of life changes happen recently and I am seeking out some adventure, particularly as a musician. Throughout the next few months I will be recording a studio record with a recording studio in Boston, in between sessions there will be a lot of downtime. I want to use that time to explore other cities (currently looking down south at places like Asheville NC and Athens Ga as I have heard these places have nice music scenes that are a little less oversatured compared to a Nashville or Memphis.)
I want to travel, share my music, and make new friends.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a fairly wide taste in music genres, my interests range from modern Indie artists such as The Front Bottoms, Turnover, Phoebe Bridgers, Rosie Tucker, Slaughter Beach Dog (and many others) to classic songwriters like Jackson Browne, John Prine, Jim Croce, etc.
I’m a fan of live events, especially concerts and sports (I am a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan), but sometimes I’m a little anxious around huge crowds. I'm an extroverted introvert. Once I get comfortable around people I can be pretty engaging company - or I'm happy to give you your space if you prefer.
I don’t watch much TV or movies really but I do have a soft spot for animation with depth to it. One of my favorite things ever made is the Cartoon Network miniseries called Over The Garden Wall. I am also a bit of an Anime fan, particularly casual slice of life stuff like Hyouka and Kids on The Slope. I enjoy studio Ghibli films as well.
I love listening to podcasts. Some of my favorites are the improv comedy show Hey Riddle Riddle (which I have had pieces of my own original music featured on 3 times in the last year!), and actual play Dungeons and Dragons podcasts Sitcom DND and Dungeons and Daddies.
I’m not a history buff, but I do like learning, love storytelling and hearing about interesting events and tales from the past.
I enjoy video games on occasion. I like artsy games like What Remains Of Edith Finch, When The Past Was Around, and Firewatch. As a sports fan, I'll play Madden or Fifa occasionally, though I’m a little terrible at both.
I don’t mind reading, but tend to lean more toward audiobooks. A couple of authors I like are Agatha Christie and Ray Bradbury. My favorite book may be Bradbury's "Something Wicked This Way Comes".
I like a good craft beer, yummy food, trivia, Table Top RPG games (though I’m still kind of a newbie), board games, and lots and lots of music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 21 I hopped on a plane for a solo trip and flew to the remote island of Shetland, just above Scotland. Countless, beautiful wacky things happened while I was up there, and I love sharing stories from my time there - lots of laughs, learning, and even a few tears of course. It's one of the bleakest, most beautiful places on the planet and I will never forget my time there.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a lifelong musician who is happy to share my thoughts on what goes into writing songs, lyrics, poetry, etc. I have some fun stories to share, and also, would love to hear about any cool experiences you might want to share.
I've struggled with an anxiety disorder, which I'm happy to say I'm doing fairly well coping with and working around these days - and so I am fairly open about my experiences with that and don't mind talking about difficult conversations when appropriate.
I'm interested in learning local culture, making new friends, and exploring the world a bit to help me grow as a person. I also want to soak up as much as I can as far as connecting with musicians, venues, and industry professionals during my adventures
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer good conversation, as both a speaker and listener. I have plenty of music to share (some of it my own) - heck maybe we can even jam a bit if you play. While I'm not a mega-partier, I'd be happy to go out for a craft beer or a nice meal if that's your thing, or we could even catch some live music.
I'll also offer plenty of quiet time as I work remotely during the day online on most week days.
