About Me
Hey there! My name is Jesse and I currently work as an engineer in Silicon Valley.
I really value variety and trying new things, so if you want to do something, I most likely would want to do it too. Studied abroad in Copenhagen and caught the travel bug there, always in search for the next rush. Recently got into wilderness backpacking
Honestly I wrote a lot of the stuff below a long time ago, and some of it is pretty cringeworthy, but I haven’t gotten around to rewriting it. So take it with a grain of salt :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
One of the most important and beautiful things I think that one can gain from travelling is an appreciation and understanding of other cultures and backgrounds. What better source to gain this information from than from someone who's been immersed in that culture? I simply think people are fascinating. We all have our own stories and backgrounds, we've all faced challenges and overcome them, and we're all unique. I really enjoy meeting new people and this is one way to do that. You get to learn how different and similar we all are.

Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste is literally all over the place. I mean that. From Christian rock to future bass to hip hop, I believe that every genre has a time and place. Music has always been an important part of my life.
Right now my favorite artists are OneRepublic, 88rising, and Khai Dreams.
Favorite movies include The Shawshank Redemption, Fight Club, The Theory of Everything, and Avatar: The Last Airbender (just kidding, that movie was an embarrassment to all of mankind)
Some of my favorite books include: Brain on Fire, I am the Messenger, and Band of Brothers. I've always enjoyed WW2 non-fiction as well as anything that has to do with neurology. I think the brain is just fascinating and would love to get a degree in it if I had the time or money.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked the Salkantay trail in Peru last November! Also drank the tap water beforehand which did not make the trail any easier
