My name is Jesse and I am twenty-two years old, I've lived in Grand Rapids Michigan for most of my life, and I am just now starting to test my boundaries by traveling around a bit. I have been studying French for four years or so, and I am currently studying French and English at Grand Valley State University. After making a trip to Morocco way back in 2014, I decided to add a bit of Arabic to my repertoire as well. A bit of biographical information, I currently live with my lovely parents so as to save money while I pay my way through my studies, and I have naught but one brother who is as sharp as a whip and is on the verge of graduating from Eastern Michigan. I have a fairly anti-social old cat and mischievous young dog who bear the same color scheme and manage to co-exist in the same space despite their varying life philosophies. Personality-wise, I may seem fairly shy at first glance, but I can't quite help but warm to everyone I might after the most menial conversations.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The main reason that I'm choosing to couchsurf is for the experiences and all the lovely new faces I hope to encounter in my travels. The idea of locking myself up in a hotel room doesn't really appeal to me, nor does it appeal to my ever-rampant sense of adventure. I'd really just like to avoid the whole touristy aspect of traveling altogether whenever possible and this seems like a better way to get real experiences in traveling.
