About Me
Howdy, My name is Jesse J Hitt.
Firstly I am an American traveler, having grown up with a pretty unconventional childhood and a lot of instability. I believe this has been beneficial for me to be a more open person to traveling around and meeting people with a different set of ideas than myself. Much of my younger years were shaped by profound loss, and moving around, I missed out on much of my childhood which led to me having to grow up a tad bit faster than most people. The experience of that through my adolescence has made me resilient, reflective, and deeply curious about people and their stories.
For a long time, World of Warcraft (Computer Gaming) was a constant for me, not just as a game but as a way to escape while keeping me connected with people from all around the world. Strangely enough, a simple online video game has helped me in ways that I could have never imagined but now that I am a little older I can appreciate it for. Just simple things such as how one may view community, teamwork and long term goals. Even now, after all these years (over a decade) I still enjoy playing as a way to unwind and reset.
Today, I'm focused on building something meaningful through Youtube, whilst pursuing College. Where I make travel and documentary inspired videos that are centered on places, and people. My approach is always calm and respectful, even when faced with differences or challenges. I am highly interested in understanding how people live, what they value, and how different places and different times shape a persons identity.
Besides from all that, I am fascinated by History & Politics and how something from many years ago is relevant today. I also enjoy building computers about every other year. ( I am not perfect but may be able to help problem solve)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have never heard of CS until this last year. What happened was that I had made a friend whilst traveling through a hostel in El Salvador 2 years ago, and just this last year I was invited to come stay with him and his family for a week in Costa Rica, to my surprise he had picked up (Through CS) a wonderful couple traveling the Americas all the way from Switzerland. We all ended up traveling together through his home country of Costa Rica and while him and I further solidified our friendship, I was also afforded the opportunity to become friends with those from Switzerland all thanks to my Costa Rican friend willing to take them in from this app. Its funny how life works like that. So after all this time, here I am attempting to Couchsurf and by the grace of providence make even more meaningful friendships for many years ahead.
