About Me
Hello couch-surfers! I'm in my late 20s, originally from northern California, and living there now, but lived the past ten years in Providence, RI.
I'm in school gearing up to get a Master's in Environmental Science, and have worked most recently as a community and labor organizer, and before that as an ESL teacher. I love biking, hiking, playing music (I play guitar), and reading, mostly non-fiction.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to travel, meet new people, and learn about places from the perspective of locals. I have always been really into adventuring and discovering all that a place has to offer--from the time I was a kid I would find ways to take little day trips all around northern California and check out different towns, wide spots in the road, waterfalls, and anything else somebody would recommend.
I prefer to get a look at a place through the eyes of people actually living there, and on top of that I don't have a ton of cash because I've devoted my life to social justice causes, and so couch surfing is a perfect fit.
Interests
I like to ride my bike, play and listen to music, read books (mostly non-fiction), and do other outdoorsey stuff--hiking, some gardening, etc. I am passionate about social justice issues too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
How about two?
Diving from 20ft. into a cenote, or underground cave filled with water, in the Yúcatan in Mexico.
One summer I had a job selling fireworks alongside a highway in Amish country, Pennsylvania, sleeping/living in the same tent where we sold them from. The pies at the farmstands out there were to die for!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you a guitar chord or two if you're new to music, know some stuff about bike repair, and a little bit about basic carpentry.
Would love to learn more about garden projects, plants, geography/geology, and home improvement projects.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Would love to share / bring you some food if you can tell me where a grocery store near you is, a bottle of wine or a six pack!
