About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel and experience as much as I can in every city. It's as simple as that.

ABOUT ME

I think a lot of people would categorize me as pretty goofy and laidback, which I would pretty much agree with. I'm very easygoing and love to laugh and have a good time. I'm always interested in meeting new people and having new experiences!

PHILOSOPHY

Exploring new opportunities and trying to make the best out of every one that I am given.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While at college, the apartment I lived in had hosted a few people from all around the world, which is how I learned about CouchSurfing. When I decided that my post-graduation gift to myself would be to travel around Europe with my girlfriend, I knew that CouchSurfing would be my way of exploring the continent. I can't imagine a better way to get to know a city than by spending a few days with someone that lives there.

Interests

There are three categories that help define me: Sports, music, and movies.
- I'm a diehard Knicks, Giants, and Mets fan.
- I listen to all sorts of music from classic rock to jazz to rap to alternative/indie/hipster to soul/funk.
- I'm a huge film nerd. I've been watching a lot of Kieslowski with my housemate recently. I'm also really into anything by Kubrick, Fincher, Bergman, or Wong Kar-Wai

Aside from these things, I love being with my family and friends and of course traveling all over the world and meeting new people

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh I didn't even see this section! Now that I've already gushed about movies and music, I guess I'll just talk about books. I'm a sucker for any Vonnegut, and I certainly enjoy Chuck Klosterman and Chuck Pahlahniuk. I just finished up the Steve Jobs biography, with plans to start reading "House of Leaves"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to the past two New York Giants Super Bowl victories. Being there as they beat the undefeated Patriots in 2008 is still the happiest moment of my life. Apoplectic ecstasy would be a good way to describe how I felt.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn something from every country I visit. Not necessarily a fact, but a tradition or a piece of the culture. I've been fortunate to travel all over the globe, and I like to think I've taken a little something from every place. I hope to continue that tradition. My favorite thing I've learned from my travels is the lifestyle of the Greeks: class/work, sit at a cafe with a few friends for a few hours and drinks frappes, and then back to work. They live a very laidback lifestyle as to really enjoy every moment of every day. Coming from NY, this lifestyle was a refreshing change of pace.
