About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Impact and change the lives around me for the better. And make the best films and most creative special effects and compositing.

ABOUT ME

I love life and experiencing it.
Most of my life has been centered around a lot of volunteer work in South America. And, though now I work as a freelance cinematographer, I sustain that the most important thing in life is interaction with others. I would like to be able to give to others, help others.

Time is probably the most precious gift of all. Listening, talking. (especially the listening, hahahahha! and I believe I try to sincerely do this)
I think people are the most important! Hence, I put a prime on them!

When I asked my friends standing nearby to describe me:
they said: "A gentleman, lots of imagination, loves filmmaking.
Romantic, patient guy."
I don't know if I agree on all of that! Hahahahha!

I think humor is essential part of life!

PHILOSOPHY

My belief is we can become anything we desire. If we believe in ourselves.

To help others live their dreams.
And as Shakespeare said, "All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players"
Let's enjoy the act! And ad lib a bit!

I believe I can learn something from everyone I encounter.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would say in one word: Adventure!
I love meeting new people, experiences, places! For me everything we live gives us the chance to enrich our life!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only couchsurfed a couple of times in Roma and in Milano. My hosts were wonderful on both occasions!

Interests

A deep talk, a heartfelt-dance, a moving jam session.
I love learning. I feel great every time I learn something new!
Photography and filmmaking. Writing good scripts!
Creating a new effect (for film)!
Creating magic on screen.
Going some place new!

I love working out! (I enjoyed street hockey as a child/tween)
now; the gym, roller-blading.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I don't know the names of all the genres. It ranges from electro tango and symphonic rock to pop and a nice techno beat. I like ballads too.
Generally anything tune that fancies me.

Movies:
As a cinematographer I love the art of illusion. The ability to make films and create worlds and stories out of nothing. (Hence my SFX and DP career)
Movies I've enjoyed would be Sherlock Holmes, The Illusionist (for all the above)
Films I believe are very good (probably some of the best I've seen): "A Single Man" and "No Country for Old Men"

Books: I read for work and pleasure (pertaining to my work). To get ideas for films I prefer living life!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have done a lot of non-profit and humanitarian work throughout my life. In one such event I was performing with my former band for a benefit-concert on New-Year's Eve in Quito, Ecuador at an underprivileged community.
The smiles on the audience's faces and their gratitude made that performance worth it! As we were heading home in the car after midnight (though we were supposed to be home before 12 to celebrate) I thought, 'This was probably the best new-year's eve celebration I've had.' It was definitely worth it! It was beautiful!

Another awesome experience, [though unrelated to the aforementioned] was when I was swimming with manta-rays in Hawaii.
A flood-light was turned on to attract the plankton to the surface and the manta-rays would go up to feed while my friends and I were in the water.
They would swim toward us with their gaping-mouths open. And right before it seemed you would be swallowed they turn and continue to 'cycle water'.
Amazing experience. And cold!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Cook peruvian dishes, dance tango, music, anything pertaining to cinematography/photography (yes even answer the 'how did they do that?' questions, hahahha)

Learn: I think life is a lesson, or better said a course with many lessons. Hence I believe I can learn something (and should) from everyone and everything I can encounter if I am open to it!

Share: Life experiences, wonderful conversations!
