About Me

I study the art of dance among Psychology and Addiction. One day, I want to practice Clinical Psychology in order to help individuals alleviate the discomfort of mental illness so that they can lead fulfilling lives.

Outside of my studies, I love to cook and prepare meals for myself and friends whenever I have the opportunity! Exploring the world is important to me; learning and experiencing new cultures is life changing and being able to see the way others live is incredibly enriching and provides meaning in my life. The joy of being with my friends and welcoming new people into my life is what fills me with the most joy - I live for the people I love.

I have worked both as a nanny and as a server. I love taking care of others whether that be providing food or helping to raise a family. My personality is very oriented toward nurturing and helping to provide growth and structure either of a household or of an organization. Being a part of something greater than myself is a fantastic feeling and something I strive for daily.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd love to meet with new people in the places I visit! To be honest, I have wanted to travel my entire life and am only recently in a position to actually do so. I want to experience new things and meet people who will change my life and hopefully, I want to change their life for the better! I would love to learn from a host and see their city through their eyes, to grow as a human being, as an artist, and as a friend.

Interests

There are so many things I am deeply interested in!
I love music, especially in the form of playing guitar and learning the piano.
Film and cinema matter a great deal to me as does seeings plays and other visual art forms.
Literature, languages, culinary arts, and even the biological sciences deeply intrigue me.
Overall, I just like to learn and feel the happiest when I am entrenched in picking up a new art form or study.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't decide on just one, because I have done a few things I am very proud of. So here's a few:

I joined the military when I was 17. My father was enlisted and I never got the opportunity to know him, so I wanted to follow in his footsteps in some way. It was a great way for me to experience part of his life and to feel close to him.

I became EMT certified at 18 and moved out of my mother's house in Michigan with only 600$ and a car full of my things. I drove for 13 hours to Minnesota and started a new life there while knowing only one person who lived in the state. This year, I started my own business (massage) and have a great practice set up.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hate and fear are learned concepts. We fear most the things that differ from us because we are afraid to see ourselves in the mirror of others.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My mother was a chef, so cooking was always sacred in my household. Sharing a meal with someone is a precious experience. I would enjoy sharing my cooking with my host because the food I prepare is connected to my family history and the recipes are generations old.
I can also share my life experience and energy. I feel that, although I am only 23, I have learned so much in my life about how to treat others and to exist peacefully, and I would love to share these messages with my host as well.
