I was born in Shakopee, MN. From there I lived most of my young life in Minnesota's Iron Range, with short bouts of residence in Randall, MN and Norway, MI. In high school I kept busy with extracurricular activities and volunteering. I attended Minnesota State University Moorhead and after 4.5 years, graduated debt free! In 2010, I married my best friend and we honeymooned in Walt Disney World. After college I worked in the nonprofit field until breaking into higher education. Served as a Peace Corps volunteer with my wife in Mongolia and returned to higher education upon our return.
