I am in Uruguay working on an anthology of younger Uruguayan poets that will be published in the US next year.

ABOUT ME

I am an English professor at the University of Wisconsin living in Montevideo, Uruguay for five months. This is my fifth time in Uruguay. I am an author, with 13 published books, (my website is www.jlkercheval.com) but here I am a student of Spanish! I live in Montevideo with my husband and 16 year old son. I love all kinds of music (folk, rock, murgas!).

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would love to meet more Uruguayos as well as people visiting and living in Montevideo and to have more opportunities to practice my Spanish.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My only couch surfing experience so far is a language exchange event organized through couch surfing. I know friends here who host and who surf.

Interests

Learning and speaking and practicing Spanish. Speaking English with anyone interested in practicing their English. Love going to museums, musical and cultural events in groups. Love going to any kind of theater or musical event. I go to a lot of poetry readings and lectures here.
