CURRENT MISSION
Stumbling around in the dark to take photos
ABOUT ME
I'm a photographer and science nerd. If I'm not out taking photos, I'm planning some kind of misadventure. Check out my photos at http://jesselsummers.com
I spent the majority of secondary school as a biology geek, traveling wherever I could in the country for forums and the presentation of my research on Coral Bleaching.
I became a bit more reckless in University despite pursuing dual engineering degrees and got heavily into the city's music scene- deejaying on the weekends with some touring mixed in.
After completing my degrees in the middle of the recession, I decided to work onboard a major line's flagship cruise ship as the DJ and had the opportunity of a lifetime to be paid to travel the Caribbean and Europe.
I started working in a "real world" IT Business Analyst setting shortly thereafter, but being in my mid-twenties glued to a computer screen all day, the world began calling me again. I then took a period of leave to travel the world and gain the cultural, social, and visual tools necessary to become a more globally aware and compassionate traveler, person, and friend.
My travels have taken me to Latin America, across the USA, The Caribbean, Europe, Australia, and Southeast Asia. I hope to soak in as much knowledge and cultural ideologies in this time to improve my global understanding and to be able to help people without the same breadth of experience to better understand their brethren in other global regions through a source with whom they can relate, so that it would invariably broaden their own horizons and whet their own appetites to journey and experience the world themselves.
I hope to encounter mountaineers, motorcycle riders, photography and art enthusiasts, history buffs, and other vibrant people throughout my travels. I get a lot of requests and only host people that have taken the time to read my profile. So: if you wish to stay with me, include a funny haiku about what you would like to do in Boulder anywhere in your request. Kind of like an open "secret password." Hopefully, I will be able to find hospitality in my travels that I will be able to repay with excellent conversation, life experiences, and future reciprocation.
I spend my time experiencing life and I really enjoy surfing, cycling, diving, exploring, and hiking.
I'll gladly answer any questions about where I've traveled or where I've lived, or about any of my hobbies for that matter as well!
