CURRENT MISSION
survive without travel
ABOUT ME
I don't remember when I knew I would travel, but I know that when I was 12, and old enough to take a 7-day paper round, I began to save up for it. I knew this before I had any idea what I wanted to do with my life, and still it is one of the only sure things I know about myself. I don't feel entirely comfortable in England, I don't want to live here for my life. In so many ways I am one of the luckiest people and I want to share that. I think life is the most important thing.
Less abstractly, I love people, cultures, languages (I love learning new languages!), I love to learn, plus the normal stuff; music, being outside, being with good friends etc etc.
PHILOSOPHY
I think I also covered this a bit, and that's something difficult to sum up, but I guess...
There is so much to learn. I want to absorb as much as possible, especially things which will help me to understand some things in the world. I realise I can't have much impact but I don't like the lifestyle I was born into in many ways. I'm not so sure we should accept things as we do, I think we should question. I think we should act. There is very little that doesn't interest me. Apart from the inner workings of computers - that's for my brother.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When we're not too busy, my housemates and I can offer a bed/mattress in our living room/kitchen, if you give us a bit of notice we'll try and help you out... We're all travelers and love to meet new people!
Centres d'intérêt
Travel sort of represents many things I most enjoy: letting your mind explore everything in a different way, getting away from the everyday little problems that life throws up, forgetting yourself a bit and looking outward. Best of all, it involves meeting people who think in different ways and trying to understand that. It also means trying new things, taking life a bit more slowly and appreciating simplicity. Perhaps it gives me the opportunity to remember what's most important.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
generally many foreign films! I enjoyed Totsi, The prophet, Amelie, trainspotting, american beauty, pan's labyrinth. Music-wise I am so open minded, I find it hard to give a genre. Don't judge me unless you know them as they have a stupid name but I love Infected Mushroom, also Java, Tiken Jah Fakoly/Alpha Blondie, a bit of Damien Rice if I'm feeling a bit sad or even classical.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Watched the stars from the roof of a Dogon house in the Dogon Country, Mali, woken up to a thousand cockerels
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
Having spent so much time learning other languages I think I'd be quite good at teaching some English or even a bit of French or Spanish. I want to perfect these languages and learn others.
