About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to go to my childhood best friend's wedding in Texas!
ABOUT ME
My name is Jessica and I'm 28 years old. I'm from Long Island, NY and love the *idea* of traveling, although I haven't been able to do it as much as I'd like. I'm friendly, pretty low key, but still fun!
I sing in my car and I'm a big karaoke fan. I know how to sing opera. I have three dogs who I love to explore the sights of Long Island with. I'm a foodie and enjoy cooking - I like to make my dishes from scratch. I'm a mystery shopper, so I get to drive fancy cars and be a food critic, except the people who read my reviews are the store owners, not NY Times subscribers.
PHILOSOPHY
"Today will Never come again.
Be a blessing. Be a friend.
Encourage someone. Take time to care.
Let your words heal, and not wound.
Today will Never come again."

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Unfortunately I can't host because I have no room to do so, but I could show people the area.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far I've surfed twice when I was on a trip to DC. Both hosts were great!

Music, Movies, and Books
I *LOVE* music and have been known to randomly break out in song ;) I like all genres, including rock of all types (indie, alternative, classic, etc.), pop, rap, classical, broadway, dance...
I think my favorite movies are ones that are the most emotionally impactful to me - Precious is one that comes to mind.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was lucky enough to sing at Carnegie Hall when I was 16.
Teach, Learn, Share
A quickie: If you're having trouble sleeping, it can be very helpful to make a bedtime routine. Shut off the TV 30 minutes before bed and do the same thing every night, whatever relaxes you - meditate, do a visualization exercise, brush your teeth, put on body lotion, read a good book. It sounds simple, but it helps!
I can teach you about the basics of mindful meditation, or any sort of psychological principal that you might be interested in!
