Overview
About Me
I'm 28 and living in Austin, TX. I'm originally from Florida but I moved to Austin from Baltimore. I am currently trying to finish up a history degree. I'm rather quiet and odd but I like meeting new people and seeing new places and learning new things.
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy doesn't really exist, as such. It's constantly changing because I'm constantly changing--and learning and growing and becoming who I'm meant to be. I suppose the closest thing I have to a philosophy is to be as humble as possible in the face of new situations, as everyone can teach me something new.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My first couch surfing experience was wonderful. We came into Montreal a day early with no place to stay. We found a couple through CS that were willing to host all four of us. After 24-hours of driving, we were extremely grateful for their hospitality.
Since then, travel has been a rarity for me, but it's also been something I crave. I was planning a huge move to New Zealand in 2015, with my boyfriend of seven years, but I was diagnosed with cancer. Now that I've finished chemo, I'm ready to explore the world. Couchsurfing is ideal for two main reasons: it's affordable (chemo is expensive and I have very little spending money these days) and it's a great way to truly experience a new place.
