About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see new things and meet new people, and to learn five languages!!!

ABOUT ME

I'm short and I like doing stuff, namely going to new countries. I also like learning languages, and I spent a year in Ukraine. I speak both Russian and French quite well... I also like hiking and most physical activity with the exception of running, basically because after about three minutes I look like a lobster hybrid.

PHILOSOPHY

Be nice to people. Hopefully they'll be nice to you back.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well I only just signed up! So hopefully in the future I'll be able to show people around both London and Nottingham, and maybe offer a couch depending on the whims of my housemates and parents!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed around Finland, staying with five hosts. I had a great time and met a lot of wonderful people, so I'm keen to keep having good new experiences!

Interests

Languages and linguistics, hiking, geography and geology, books, obviously meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Science fiction, Harry Potter (of course!), John Wyndham,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Iceland and it was the most beautiful country I've ever seen, and one of the quietest. As I live in London, light pollution means I never see the night sky with all the stars, and seeing that in Iceland, as well as the northern lights (twice!) was awesome. I also lived in Ukraine for a year, which was interesting and gave me a new perspective on my own culture as well as someone else's! I went couchsurfing in Finland and I had an amazing time, seeing a lot of things that I would never have found about had I been staying in a hostel.

Teach, Learn, Share

If anyone wants to learn some basic Russian/French or English I'm willing to share something! I worked as an EFL teacher for a year in Ukraine. I'd like to learn a bit more Ukrainian, and practice my Russian/French, and I'd also like to learn German.
