About Me

Current Mission:
Explore the world around me with an open heart and curious mind.

About Me:

I just finished up two years at my local community/junior college with an AA (Associates of the Arts) in Anthropology. Before continuing on to a four year university, I want to take this transitional time as an opportunity to travel and learn about the world. I've been on a year long trip around the world and I really enjoy meeting new people and experiencing the cities I'm visiting from more of a local perspective.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd like to experience the places I'm visiting from the eyes of a local and make new friends.

I haven't really had the opportunity to use CS yet because I stayed with family and friends while in Canada and I was on a bus tour in continental Europe but I'm hoping I'll get to use more now that the tour is over.

Interests

Kinda really obsessed with swing dancing at the moment. My cousin that I was staying with in Toronto introduced me to Lindyhop and I've been trying to base my next few destinations on the swing scene.

I also really REALLY like food. I love cooking for people, learning how to cook new things, and going out to places to eat.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On July 24th, 2015 I started what was supposed to be a two week long road trip with some of my girl friends up to Vancouver, Canada. I did not go home with them. I spent five months traveling alone across Canada by train and bus. I proceeded to travel down the east coast of the United States and found a job in New York for 4 months then hopped over to continental Europe where I've been traveling by myself for 3 months. This is the first time I've left home for a long period of time and I don't see myself stopping any time soon. This year has been such a journey and I'm definitely grown so much as an individual.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook! I specialize in Thai/Chinese home cooking but I know a few random dishes that I've learnt from friends or on my travels. I also have some experience working in a bakery, so if you want fresh bread or some cookies, I'll happily make you some! I'd love to learn how to make your favorite dish.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Cambodia, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Switzerland, Thailand, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Hong Kong, United States
