Overview
About Me
Hello! My name is Jessica, and I am an avid, passionate traveler. I am a Brazilian-American UF graduate who worked for a year in management in Orlando, FL, before I quit my job, sold all my things, and hit the road. Now I work in video-blogging and videography, self-awareness and relationship coaching, and writing (short stories and blogging). I am vegan, ambidextrous, crazy, fun, outgoing, spiritual, a salsa/bachata dancer, and a certified yoga teacher who loves the outdoors. I have been to over 30 countries across the globe, and I don't plan on stopping yet... I'm just getting started.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on Couchsurfing because the world is ours to explore, and I intend to seize that opportunity. What better way to meet new people, make international friends, and truly get to know the area than through the eyes of a local? I would much rather sleep on someone's floor or sofa than stay in a luxurious hotel and miss out on the opportunity to make a new friend. But hey, that's just me.
Interests
My passions include any sort of physical exertion (hiking, biking, rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, etc.), yoga, dancing (belly dancing, salsa, bachata) cooking, reading, watching fun movies and educational documentaries, traveling, and meditating. I love beaches, forests, sunsets, and gazing at the stars. I am interested in deep conversations and new perspectives.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love introspective books about self-discovery, realizations, and nirvana. As far as music, I love anything that makes my heart sing and my hips swing. My top picks are EDM, reggaeton, and chillstep. I love comedic movies and romantic comedies - anything that will make me laugh. I eat books up like a true, avid bookworm, so recommend me a new great author/novel and I will be incredibly grateful!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I created a video blog called "Solo Female Traveler", to document bits and pieces of the self-awareness and self-discovery that I have been stumbling upon during my travels - be sure to check it out!

I also gave a TEDx Talk titled "The death of poor me" in August of 2014, in Helsinki, Finland. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBElFl1aLtI ; it's definitely worth the watch!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach yoga, meditation, breathing techniques, and vegan cooking. I would love to learn more of any of these things, as well as salsa/bachata (from a strong lead). I am very opening to learning almost anything...! I love trying new things. I love receiving as well as sharing knowledge. Just try me. :-)
What I Can Share with Hosts
My ridiculously good cooking, cleaning, and organizing skills. Seriously, if my host is wonderful, I can cook, clean, reorganize, and declutter anything of theirs per their request. No host will ever have to worry about picking up after me or about me leaving a mess, because that will not happen. I'll leave your home cleaner than it was when I arrived, as a way of showing my appreciation for you hosting me! Thank you in advance, and I cannot wait to meet you! :-)
