About Me
"...Bcause if you see yourself in the correct way, you are all as much extraordinary phenomenon of nature as trees, clouds, the patterns in running water, the flickering of fire, the arrangement of the stars, and the form of a galaxy. You are all just like that, and there is nothing wrong with you at all." - Alan Watts
Hello!
I love travelling and meeting new people. I cook vegetarian meals, hike, meditate, play crosswords, read a lot of memoirs, and am self-teaching myself classical guitar, ukulele and Spanish.
I'm a dietitian by training and have worked in policy, research, and community engagement. I'm interested in debating or discussing health equity, improving local food systems, and health systems around the world :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe a large part of travel is being immersed with the local people to really understand the culture of a new place. I also really believe in the power of human connection and love hearing about others life experiences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walked through the Scottish highlands!
I really wanted to learn Spanish, so I quit my job and immersed myself in Ecuador for 6 weeks :)
Went on a 1500km bicycle tour through New Brunswick and Nova Scotia (I only learned how to ride a bike 3 years beforehand).
Helped re-build a great-grandfather's home after it was destroyed during Hurricane Katrina. Meeting him was one of the biggest honours of my life!
