About Me

Hi! My parents are from Punjab. I was born in California and raised in Florida my whole life.

In 2016 only a few months after leaving a ten year relationship, I left my career as an attorney for a sabbatical to travel the world. I worked a summer in a national park in Alaska. I camped on the top of mountain ranges watching the sunset at 2a.m. I backpacked through the islands of Hawaii and watched a sunset from the top of a volcano. I marveled at glow worms in New Zealand while climbing through a cave.

I sailed on the nile river in Egypt. I drank mint tea in Petra. I kissed the magical stone in Blarney castle, Ireland. I walked through circles of stones in Scotland. I ate gluten free pizza in Florence.

I watched Christmas fireworks from a cable car in Medellin, Colombia. I celebrated NYE in Fiji by dunking buckets of water on people and throwing others in the pool (a fijian NYE tradition that lasts for two weeks after the new year). I saw 32 polar bears in one day at Churchill, Canada. I then had to take a two day train ride the 1000 miles back to Winnipeg when a blizzard canceled my flight. I have countless experiences from spending three years on the road.

I am still on sabbatical and still traveling. I stopped for a short time to attend my yoga teacher training and teach yoga classes. Then I started traveling again.

*I don't drink alcohol or do drugs. I'm not looking for anything inappropriate. Sorry boys!*

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet other people and find ways to stretch my travel budget. I quit work to travel the world. Other than teaching yoga I have mostly been living off my savings.

Interests

I found out that I am celiac in 2010 so the gluten free interest was forced on me! It's so sad. I miss pizza.

Music, Movies, and Books

I will read anything from trashy romance novels to spy mysteries to travel stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Quit my job as a lawyer to work the summer as a concierge at a hotel selling tours in Denali National Park, Alaska with my best friend. I will never forget that summer. Alaska gave me the strength to pack my bag and travel the world solo.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to hear the stories about people's lives. I have met so many interesting people on the road.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach yoga or meditation. I am also a Reiki energy master.

I am happy to cook gluten free meals for my host. I can make curry or mexican food. I also make Punjabi chai tea with fresh spices: cinnamon, fennel, cloves, and cardamom pods.

I can teach a beginner how to crochet. I can share travel stories. I can share stories about life as a lawyer. I worked a few years in a State Attorney's office as a criminal prosecutor.
