About Me
A 21-year-old girl who enjoys travelling and immersing in new cultural experiences!
I am currently a Chemical Engineering student in National University of Singapore. During my holiday, I would either be working or travelling.
I've only started solo travelling May this year and my first destination was Taiwan for 2 weeks. It was an extremely interesting experience, allowing me to learn so much about the locals and myself!
I would be leaving my hometown for student exchange to Kingston, Canada in late August this year and am looking forward to more exciting opportunities.
I love volunteering and enjoy interacting with people from different backgrounds. I've volunteered for more than 10 years now, working together with different organisations and planning events/activities in different countries. While I make a difference to the beneficiaries' lives, I hope my actions would also inspire more youths to volunteer and serve the community.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've heard SO many good things about Couchsurfing and would love to experience it myself. Couchsurfing is not only a way for travellers to save a little on their budget, it is also a good way for us to meet new people and have the true local experience.
I got to say, I was initially really skeptical about the idea as I'd never know how the hosts or surfers are like until I meet them. Then I read this online article about how people who had the same thought, turned out to have an amazing time with the hosts/surfers. So here I am, prepared to try something new and I really hope to meet new friends through this platform!

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to all sorts of music - don't really have a preference for a particular genre or band. But I do prefer music or songs with a more upbeat feel. Recently, I'm very interested in Hindi songs and am open to recommendation!
I love reading, especially novels written based on true story. Whenever I read, I would imagine myself living the life of the main character and I guess that is a way for me to experience something different. I would often ask myself what would I do in those tough situations mentioned in the story and such thoughts could make me disconnect from the world for hours.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think everyone has a different definition of what an "amazing thing" can be but for myself. I think volunteering has been the best thing I've done with my life so far.
I've been able to interact with people with different circumstances and I'm highly motivated to find a way that will help get them out of their situation. Most importantly, volunteering isn't just about helping people in need, but also doing something for the community where you see a need, like engaging the residents to lead a healthier lifestyle or just building a more accepting community. It's really about doing that you can relate to and are passionate about.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am open to learn more about your culture and if you would like to know more about mine, be sure to ask! I have so many amazing things to share!
I've stayed in the hostel on campus in Singapore for 2 years so I'm really independent and clean. There's no need to worry that I would make a mess!
