About Me
In 2014 I moved from England to Canada to travel and work. Since then I have been living between Canada and France. Although at times it is tough to keep making home in new places, I have had many valuable experiences and met new friends.
I love being in the mountains and the outdoors, even though I am a novice for most sporting activities. I've wobbled about parts of BC and US west coast on a bicycle for 4 months..but most the time my quest for adventures are a lot more modest.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe in seeing a place through meeting its people :)
I like a variety of accommodation options when I travel, usually hostels, camping, bnb's and hosting. My most memorable visits, especially on my cycle trip, were when I've had the opportunity to meet someone living in the area, even just for a 'hello'. Meeting people from different walks of life is important to me, maybe because I grew up in London and feel most comfortable when there is diversity.
I hope to be able to give back to the travel community when I am somewhere I am able to offer too.
Interests
Snowboarding, cycling, hiking or staying home and playing with paints or fabrics.
At home I enjoyed cooking, often veggie. I used to like making cakes but I made a few disasters in Canada because of different ingredients and measures! I've got banana bread down pretty good now though. (update: not if at 1000m altitude, I've discovered).
I have studied and worked a little in travel and tourism and so take great inspiration from people, or entrepreneurs I've met the last couple years.
If not tourism maybe I'll open a rabbit sanctuary.

Music, Movies, and Books
For music and books I have a varied taste. It's good to be reading again after a long while without. I appreciate suggestions for good reads. I like picking up my next book from charity shops, book swaps and kerb side piles - the reads stay varied! The Alchemist, one of my favourites, was found on a neighbourhood street in Toronto.
I've tried to play a number of instruments in the past but this is definitely more of a spectator area for me. Live shows need to feature more in my life. I enjoy listening to a range of music, for example, recently in my car I had Otis Redding playing, but next day went to a ska punk gig :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Still working on it..
Teach, Learn, Share
Willing to learn and share what I know; I'm a terrible teacher though.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My pointless stories and usually whatever foodie goodies I've found after a day touring the shops and markets.
