Hello fellow couch surfers! I an new to this web site, a very good friend of mine introduced me and now I am hooked! I live right in the heart of Denali National Park Alaska. I am only two miles from the railroad station and during summer months there is a free shuttle up the hill to drop you off near my house. I love company, anyone from anywhere around the world. I am married and have two cats and no children. I have two spare rooms, one with a double bed and one with a single. Both my husband and I love to cook and eat and don't mind others cooking for us either. I am currently a US Park Ranger with the National Park Service and get to live and play in wonderful places. Please come and visit!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As mentioned above I am new to both hosting and staying with Couch Surfing, but I can't wait to start visiting places where I can stay with the locals and experience the comforts of a home rather than a hotel. I am also excited to start getting visitos from all a,round the US and foreign visitors. It is difficult to get away in the summer with my job so why not bring new friends into my home?

Interests

Both my husband and I love being outdoors in every season. Hiking, biking, backpacking, horseback riding, swimming, scuba diving, wildlife watching, skiing just to name a few activities. We both love to cook, entertain, eat and be social. I like to throw parties at my house to give me an opportunity to cook for people. Jason and I also love to travel, a lot! Some of the beautiful places we have been have been South Africa, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Egypt, Germany, Canada, Israel, Namibia, Korea, and almost all the states in the US.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love historical fiction books and/or movies, war movies, romantic comedy. I really love to read about exotic places too so lots of nonfiction books on history or current affairs.
Music tastes are all over the board I love to discover new music and not really into too much popular music. I love Americana, country, blues, international styles, old school rock and many others

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Only one? Hmmmm....three weeks of mountain trekking and horseback riding in Kyrgyzstan! One amazing trip with beautiful people, great food, amazing scenery, culture, music and did I mention great food?

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have two spare bedrooms, a full kitchen with all the appliances you need to cook, including a grill and smoker. Washer and dryer if needed. Information on the local area, local hikes, ranger programs, and the NPS.

Depending on the time of year some fresh Alaska salmon!
