About Me

Hey there,

My name is Jess and I'm an Aussie transplant in the land of Moose and Maple Syrup!

My adventures have taken me through Canada and the US, and I have been fortunate enough to meet so many amazing people along the way - Each and every person contributing to an experience of a lifetime, and another notch on my "couch" belt!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like people, and what better way to meet new people than by... staying on their couch? Haha. But in all seriousness, I have found that couch surfing is the best way to have authentic experiences in new (and old) cities/ towns/ countries and make great memories, all while meeting new and interesting people.
Sure, you can stay in hostels and hotels and meet just as many people, but the experience is different. The people are different. Am I rambling now? Eek. Let's meet!

Interests

Some of my favourite things in this world include hanging out with my family and friends, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, checking out local art fairs and, markets, telling bad jokes, watching movies, playing video games, annoying my cats, going for walks along the river, exploring new places, going on extended vacays (and staycays), experiencing different cultures... the list goes on! Life is just too short not to enjoy.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music tastes are so diverse... But you'll find my most played songs fall into the alt-rock and electric / drum and bass genres.

My movie and book tastes are also very diverse, but I love anything to do with sci-fi, fantasy and adventure!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done... hmm...

Quit my job, packed up my things and booked a one way ticket to Canada!

Honestly it's probably the most ballsy thing I've ever done, but I have no regrets whatsoever. Well, maybe that I didn't pack enough warm clothes...

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach me everything about your hometown and way of life. I am all about new experiences! And in turn I can teach you all about my own country and life :) Aussie slang coming your way in 3... 2...

Learn something new. A skill, way of thinking, a recipe maybe. I'm keen.

Share my travel stories and mountain of random yet useless facts. Oh, and Simpsons quotes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My cheery disposition and terrible jokes... HA.

Plus I love, love, LOVE to cook (and eat), so why don't I make you something delicious? :3
