About Me
Hello and thank you for reading my profile! I am a 26-year-old entrepreneur from Guam. I've owned and run my company Thrive Tutoring Services since 2015. I try to travel as much as possible, but always find accommodations to be the most difficult part! Tutoring is a great business to be in, but it's very seasonal--so that has a big impact on what I can and can't afford when I travel.
I've never couch-surfed before, but I've always been a good roommate, and I have stayed in the homes of friends every year that I've traveled in the last 5 years. No complaints so far!
Let me know if you'd like to get to know me a little better!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm couchsurfing because I love staying in homes with cool people. I like having really integrated travel experiences. That's something I try to provide whenever people visit Guam, even though I'm not always able to provide a place for them to sleep (I always have a roommate or two to consider). I usually use Air BnB when I travel, but some locations just have prices that are too expensive for me, so I'm hoping to make couchsurfing an alternative!

Music, Movies, and Books
I grew up reading Pride and Prejudice, Little Women, Narnia, Artemis Fowl, Harry Potter--These are some of the books that inspired me to start writing my own stories. I've actually published a novel on Amazon in the past year!
I will never get tired of watching the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit (live action and cartoon versions). I love classic films, BBC period dramas (Poldark specifically, at the moment), and the odd American film that's actually worth spending money on (LOL).
A couple of my favorite bands currently are the Arctic Monkeys and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been an outrigger canoe paddler for two years. I've participated in 2 regional race events (Micronesia Cup). 2-3 days of intense sprints and long-distance ocean canoe races! I once paddled more than 12 miles in a single day during a MicroCup!
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy teaching English and writing...and whatever else I might happen to have a knack for!
I love learning about language and culture, water sports, dancing, singing--almost anything interesting and awesome!
I enjoy sharing food and life experiences.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my cleanliness! My food. My tutoring/babysitting/writing skills.
