Overview
About Me
Full-time 9-5 office drone spending too much time in the transportation industry and staring at a computer. When I'm not, I'm a food-loving, active person who likes to read novels and garden.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Besides the whole "I love traveling and meeting locals" spiel that everyone else here has? :)
I grew up attending a summer camp that drew people from all over the country, many who returned year after year, and the bonds created were truly tremendous. So for years after, I could always draw on those familiar names to have a couch or a friend of a friend with a couch, then with friends of friends of friends, we'd all hang out and have a blast! When someone pointed out that there was an international group of new friends just waiting to happen, I had to sign up!

Music, Movies, and Books
Some that I can think of:
Books: fiction mostly: crazy rich asians, where did you go Bernadette, Circe (basically the New York Times Bestseller list), italo calvino invisible cities, Ernest Hemingway's short stories.
Movies: Star Wars (original and modern) and Miyazaki
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
February 2019 - Booked a last minute flight to Paris (okay that doesn't sound really amazing but it's not something I ever imagined I'd do!)
August 2016 - Bike camping the C&O in Maryland.
March 2016 - Did the free layover tour of Istanbul with Turkish Airlines. It is a really good deal and definitely worth it to catch a glimpse of Turkish history.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to soak up as much of other people and cultures and opinions. I can share my own experiences, preferably over a cold beer or hot tea, and some sightseeing.
I can teach about kitchen/cooking/food skills: such as how to make/fold dumplings, how to brew kombucha, how to grow vegetables, etc.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I really like food. A lot. I would like to share a meal - we can cook together or go out, and enjoy some conversation over food and drink. Besides being delicious and literally what we need to live, food brings people together.
