My name is Jessica, I am an American social science/economics researcher with a focus on women and urbanization. I am currently living in Senegal. I speak French, some Arabic, and some Wolof (and English is my native language).

Je m’appelle Jessica, je suis chercheuse Americaine aux sujets de l’economie et l’urbanisation, et je me concentre aussi sur les femmes. Maintenant j’habite a Senegal. Je parle l’Anglais (langue maternelle) le francais et un peu d’arabe et wolof.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used couchsurfing to get around Ghana when I visited there for a couple of months. I was surprised by how amazing the experience was and I want to help other people get that experience! I also had the pleasure of hosting a couchsurfer while I lived in Pittsburgh.

Interests

Some of my favorite things are nature, art, and good food. I have a degree in African Studies so I very much appreciate learning more about local history when travelling in Africa. I also love to study languages.
