Overview
About Me
29 years young, ready to take on the world.
Home is Toronto - I'm Chinese-Canadian. Relocated to London during COVID for work, stayed because I love it.
I favour the unknown, the new, and the bold - probably to a fault - and have a lot of crazy tales and scars to survive those stories.
On the flip side, I'm also a clean and borderline obsessively organized person, constantly documenting and categorizing my life into lists and notes. Alas, the paradox of myself.
Gainfully unemployed - taking a break currently.
I'm a DIY traveller and love to to learn more about the world through exploration. I like visiting the tourist spots but also try my best to create my own adventure "off the beaten path". I also find there to be tremendous value in discovering your own city too - truly, there are gems everywhere.
However, my favourite experiences in my travels have always come down to the people that I'm with, and the memories we've forged together. A gorgeous view is just 100% better with the right companion to share it with.
I used to think I was a staunch extrovert. But I've gotten a lot more comfortable being alone since moving abroad alone, and the solitude that the pandemic has afforded me.
But I love meeting new people. I'm very easygoing and often described as really chill, friendly. Always up for an adventure!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Kickstart love of travel and immerse myself in the culture, meet nomads from around the world.
Interests
I'm food obsessed, I love eating my way through new cities and trying the local delicacies.
Big music nerd and very much into live shows and dancing (poorly but passionately).
Also into: running; working out and staying active (down for hikes!); racquet sports; writing/poetry; stoicism, trivia; health/wellness; cycling; the gym; movies; modern board games; time well wasted watching mindless tv; linguistics; psychology and human behaviour; complaining about the throes of capitalism whilst being willfully complicit in it; playing armchair philosopher; and of course, good company and conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC: slant towards 80s/90s alt, rock, metal... and electronic music (techno/house) - but I really do find something to love in every genre.
Pixies, Yo La Tengo, the Smiths, Kyuss, Blood Orange, Have a Nice Life, Spiritualized, Massive Attack, Fleetwood Mac, John Maus.
MOVIES: Holy Mountain, Kids, American Beauty, Mean Girls, Ruben Östlund's Triangle of Sadness. Most things by Woody Allen. 'Before' trilogy.
BOOKS: too much non fiction and self improvement pop psych books. Outliers; Murakami; Roald Dahl; Yolk by Mary HK Choi.
PODCASTS: No Stupid Questions; Freakonomics; Serial; Radiolab.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have a sleep superpower. I once fell asleep during a Black Sabbath concert.
Teach, Learn, Share
Enjoy learning and new experiences. Can't proudly tote myself as a qualified teacher but would love to share parts of my life... inclusive of cultures I've experienced, language, trip-planning, sports, music/events/food, cities I've been to 🙃
My brain is full and usually heavy! I have a great memory. I'm also great at finding deals, and being resourceful.
I know a lot about fitness, nutrition, music, and food.
Or if you need a marketing guru, I'm your gal!
