Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy all types of books, my favorites include the Harry Potter series, historical novels, and really old books long forgotten.
Other than horror I will watch pretty much any movie, Pan's Labrynth, The last Unicorn and heart wrenching movies top my list!
I will listen to any genre of music, Florence and the Machine is currently on repeat, I love country, and anything you can sing along or dance to.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In my final year of high school I got the opportunity to travel around Egypt. On one excursion we stopped far up river of the Nile, despite the possible health risks my travel companions and I stepped in, only up to our knees it is still something that not a lot of people I meet can´t say they have done. Sliding down the sand dunes that day was exhilarating but nothing can compare to the feel of the water between my toes!
In 2011 during my first year of university I took a trip to Rome. The first weekend we were there was the same weekend of Europride. I went and joined the festivities, watched Lady Gaga preform, and took in all the nightlife had to offer. Despite being in a city and a country I knew little about I felt entirely safe surrounded by the acceptance that the others had to offer. The love for others I saw that night will surpass any act of anger I see, knowing that somewhere someone will always care.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have learned so much about my own culture just by experiencing others, I once thought Canada didn't have it's own 'thing' just a combination of other cultures' traits. I now realize that is our 'thing', a combination of a Little bit of everything, and hard as it is to define, it is what make us who we are.
I really want to learn more about the cultures of peolpe around the world, and see how they live, whats the same and whats different. You can accept someone without knowing anything about them, but learning what has made them who they are is so much more fun and sharing the experience with them makes it even better!
