ABOUT ME

I've lived a pretty normal life. Grew up in the same house my whole life.. played sports.. went to school.. got my degree and then was set to start grad school in the fall and it just hit me.

I am not ready to be stuck somewhere. With a job, a mortgage, a relationship, etc. I then made the best decision I have made so far. I got my passport(no I didn't have one my whole life until I was 23, crazy I know!) and booked my flight to Switzerland. In Geneva I worked as an au pair for the year, struggling to learn French and just living life as an expat. I got to travel almost every month and went to various places in Europe and then did a big summer trip at the end of my time here. As I was getting ready to book my flights back to the US and was thinking about grad school once again, I decided that I wasn't ready to head back yet and booked my flight to Perth, Australia where I stayed a year(amazing!).

I think it's safe to say I have caught the travel bug. I am constantly planning and thinking about all the places I still would like to discover and don't intend to stop anytime soon!

In Australia, I met my boyfriend(who is from England)and he is heading to the states in just a couple weeks where we will start an amazing road trip around the US in an RV. I am so excited to show him around, but also to see my own country for myself. I can't believe how many times people would ask me about New York and California and would have to shamefully tell them I had never been! You should've seen some of the looks I received! "You're American and you've never been to NY?!" ...Yikes.

In a few short weeks we'll be on the road. We look forward to meeting people around this great country and help to show us around!:)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed a couple times in Europe(once in France and once in England) and really enjoyed swapping stories and just meeting new people. I haven't hosted yet but hope to once I am done traveling eventually!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed with my brother in Normandy, France and also in Liverpool, England. Looking to add to that list though!

兴趣

My wanderlust has taken over and I can see myself on the road for at least 2-3 more years. I love traveling! I enjoy going out and having a good time but I also love my lazy Sundays. I enjoy the beach, snorkeling, hiking, playing softball and tennis and a good book.

Any Nicholas Sparks book. Jodi Picoult has some great books as well(The Pact, Nineteen Minutes, etc). I'm a sucker for romance novels.

Movies: Walk the Line, Country Strong, When Harry Met Sally, The Notebook, 13 Going on 30, Forrest Gump, The Sixth Sense(only scary movie I will watch)

Snorkeling in the Gili Islands in Indonesia was definitely up there.. the water was so clear and amazing! Also, not much tops the Grand Canyon in my book.

I would love to learn a new language especially get better at my Spanish and French. Helping teach English is something I enjoy. Future plans to teach in S. Korea in January are in the making(can't wait!).
