About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to explore the world without missing my family!
ABOUT ME
We live in the beautiful Alberni Valley, definitely a place to visit! We are a family of four, who live pretty stable lives getting up early and going to bed at a reasonable time. I like cooking and am happy to offer food to our guests who like doing dishes. You might even get some eggs from our back yard chickens! I like to help people with their travels, because I remember all the good karma I've benefited from during my travels!
PHILOSOPHY
I would like to make the world a better place with whatever small actions I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At this point, I am hoping to host some people in my home, as well as start travelling and staying with people soon. I imagine that there will be more hosting for the next couple of years, while the kids are still small.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Our house has welcomed many people to stay with us, and we like it! We have had boarders, foreign exchange students, long-term visitors, and youth volunteers. We have enjoyed it all! Thus far most of our couchsurfers have only stayed for one night, but our girls are hoping to have people stay longer! And there is a lot to do here- bike riding, hiking, windsurfing, kite-boarding, yoga, swimming, wakeboarding, funky shops, the McLean Mill National Heritage site- really you need some time here!
Interests
Reading, cooking, yoga, bike riding, spinning, knitting, crafting, gardening, chickens, walking, games, sociaslizing, thrift store shopping, garage saling, swimming, watching movies, reading to my kids, dumpster diving....

Music, Movies, and Books
I read voraciously, but tend to forget the names of authors! Not much time these days. Tends to be things about yoga presently.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was unafraid of doing things on my own- treeplaning in the wilds of British Columbia, waitressing in France, teaching in Thailand, vacationing in China.
Teach, Learn, Share
Financial responsibility, yoga, cooking, gardening, green living, ethical food choices, I don't know!
