About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Seeing and experiencing the world through my eyes
ABOUT ME
I'm quite energetic but since I've left my life as a type-a consultant/project manager to travel around and learn all things yoga, I still have tons of energy but it's a much more mellow or "shanti shanti" energy as they say in India. I get along very easily with people and can be highly social but I have moments when I just want to be alone and read or watch the surroundings. I have this thing where if people have to say what they are, then they really aren't those things but I guess here it's unavoidable huh? So that being said, I'm thoughtful, rationally selfless, loving, compassionate, loyal, exciting, passionate, caring. I adapt to my surroundings, as I've had to learn more so living in 3rd world dev countries where women are not given the same freedoms as they are in the west.
PHILOSOPHY
Love unconditionally, work like I play, dream without attachment and make the most out of every day.
I really didn't intend for that to rhyme. *laughs* oops.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Currently, I'm not sure? I just signed up yesterday and I'm traveling at the moment so I'm a surfer in the present. Whenever I actually live somewhere I'll host as well.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm a newbie so this is TBD.
Interests
Right now - yoga... yoga yoga yoga and more yoga. That means everything that goes with it too, not just the physical bendy stuff but meditation, pranayama... the whole shebang! Mostly when I travel I call it "living like a gypsy" because I spend most of my time learning and less time being the typical tourist. I spend considerable time in one location (usually 3-4 months at a time) and make use of all there is to offer. I've recently learned to spin pois, I spent 6 weeks learning Aerial Silks and all this while still doing yoga.
I have this addiction to live music as well and I tend to travel vast distances for shows. I came to Australia to see Florence and the Machine and I'll be going back to Amsterdam to see Garbage, my favorite band since 1995, with my friends in Europe.
When I'm not doing yoga or seeing a show I walk around and read a lot, not at the same time of course. Well, actually, sometimes at the same time but it's not always really effective. Oh yes, I also tend to find my way into local cafes/chai shops/eaters to stuff myself as well.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies - mostly documentaries but since traveling, pretty much what my friends and I swap from our external hard drives
Music - EVERYTHING! Mostly electro and since the new Garbage album came out that's been on repeat but like movies, I've been sharing and learning about a lot of new artists, which is good because unless it's bollywood, I don't really get too much in India.
Books - EVERYTHING! I have a kindle, it's loaded and I'm glued to it most of the time. Non-fiction is a fave but I can't lie - loved the hunger games and the millennium trilogy :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1) Witnessing the impact of a bridge I helped build connecting two villages (Bela Bela and St. Theresa) in Lesotho was probably the most inspiring thing I have ever seen and been a part of. Seeing the older population do little shimmy dances across the new bridge while smiling and singing praises in Sesotho was just incredible.
2) Wildlife and I have moments, from getting attacked by an aggressive monkey in Rishikesh, facing 2 very pissed off elephants in the bush of South Africa (I can blame our guide for pissing them off), having a 60' humped back whale swim directly under my SUP while in one of the coves off Maui in Hawaii to watching the sunset every night w/ a dozen monkeys on the cliff side when I was living in Arambol, Goa. It's all a combination of hilarious, terrifying and humbling.
Teach, Learn, Share
As I've said in my bio, I'm all about yoga right now. I'm also a certified personal trainer and have a few other body type certifications so health and fitness are top on my list of life priorities. Yoga has literally changed my life in so many ways I can't even begin to write them here but I have quite a bit of knowledge about all things in the 8 limbs, definitely not complete knowledge but a bit. :)
