About Me
I'm a French-American world citizen trying to enjoy the beauty of this world while discerning my next step to try to end the madness that has somehow made Donald Trump a valid candidate in the U.S. and membership in Daesh a tempting option for certain folks. I've got questions, folks.
I'm an extroverted, politically-interested genuine human being who has just left a wonderful 2 years community organizing the US and 2 years doing peacebuidling in Colombia before that to embarked on a seven-month world tour in order to better understand the various ways we are trying to save this world from destruction (obviously cutting down on carbon footprints is taking a backseat for the sake of the research) and who greatly enjoys the following:
- Salsa dancing/dancing in general
- New languages
- Conversations that teach me something I don't know about another places' history, culture, way of understanding the world.
- Books that make you laugh, cry, or shake your fist at the sky (example: The Brothers K, A Short History of Nearly Everything, A People's History of the United States)
- Long hikes and walks on the beach (no but really...)
- Waking up and going to bed early
- Run-on sentences
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've had some great experiences with Couchsurfing both being hosted while in Ireland and hosting folks when I was living in Medellin, Colombia. I got to meet a bunch of very interesting world-travelers who appreciated having a local place to crash.
Now that I'm embarking on my own world-trip I'm eager to gratefully receive the generosity of others once more. It is infinitely more interesting, to my mind, to get to know a place through the eyes of someone who lives there and can tell you where the best place to get a drink or go for a run are than figuring it all out alone!
I haven't been very good at reviewing folks or having them review me (I'm not much of a detail person, but am sort of kicking myself about that) but I will do better! Promise :)
