About Me

CURRENT MISSION

At 20: To figure out what living means. Is it standing on top of the tallest mountain? Is it riding down some rapids? Is it flying over the clouds? I am trying to figure out, but I know it is somewhere out in the world, and I need to go look for it.

At 19: To live. Not just to breath and go through each day, but to truly make each and everyday an adventure.

ABOUT ME

At 20: Deciding to update my profile, I decided to keep my previous answers. After all, we are a continuation of our past experiences, and I hope that I can use my past as building blocks for reaching my goals. I am as Senior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I am studying languages--something I've always found fascinating. What do I want to do? Be happy. I know I like simplicity, and I know I like discovery. I need to keep moving and keep discovering the world, its people, and myself.

At 19: College student. Traveler. Reader. Coffee lover. I try to live by my philosophy and respect others. Live and let leave. Some of the most amazing stories come from the most unexpected places. Approach each experience with the mentality that you can learn something fantastic. That is what I try to go by.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At 20: I've had some wonderful adventures doing Couchsurfing. I've met some truly fascinating people. I've only surfed so far, but I hope in the not too far away future, I will be in a position to support fellow travelers by hosting them.

At 19: I just got back from an amazing 6 week adventure in California. I surfed most of my time there, and it was an amazing experience. I learned much from my hosts, and I don´t think my travels would have been as meaningful, complete, outstanding, and inclusive without them. So far, this has been my participation, but I hope to get more involved.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

At 20: Looking at my previous experience, I still feel a sense of disbelief. From the overwhelmingly beautiful northern California to the cuisine of Miami, Couchsurfing has let me experience some of the best moments I've had. It has enriched each moment by giving me wonderful people to share my excitement with away from home. I've only been welcomed and received by the kindest sould, and I can't overstate how much that's been a part of my growing into adulthood.

At 19: I can´t even begin! From Oyster Festivals to laundry lockers, Couchsurfing has helped me to be a tourist and a local. It has taught me things I wouldn't of found on my own, and it has made me look into who I want to be in this amazing community and in the greater scheme of things.

Interests

At 20: I still love running. There is something amazing about looking straight ahead and going miles and miles into the world. It's how I feel like I'm exploring a place. It is a magical feeling to physically cover such distances.

Myth has it my first word was "map," whether or not that is true, I'd rather believe it is. My main interest is the world and everything in it. An avid reader, an emotional movie-watcher, and a moon gazer, I am interested in cultures, languages, and exploration.

I also love food. I think it is one of my best skills--eating, that is. I usually do research on the places I will visit, and try to eat something new every time. Food is a bare human necessity, but just because is an activity needed to survive, doesn't mean it has to be boring. I like making each meal a sensory and enjoyable adventure.

At 19: I love running, and exploring new places. Cooking and trying new foods makes each afternoon an exciting new opportunity.

Music, Movies, and Books

Age 20: I still agree with what I said. :)

Age 19: I will give ALL movies, music, and books a fair try! How am I to know it isn´t a favorite until I've tried it?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Age 20: I have run a half-marathon, after coming back from an injury that was supposed to put an end to long distance.

Age 19: I've seen life for 19 years. Everyday holds something wonderful and unexpected.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My passions. My conversation. My dreams and goals.
