About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To change the world for the better or be changed for the better by seeing the world.

ABOUT ME

I am me; nothing less, nothing more. I am a child of God trying to live right and experience the world through my own version of "Rose-colored glasses". I want to travel the world and meet wonderful people. I am a person who is not afraid to speak my mind but I also care a lot about other's feelings and their realities. I love to read, love to write and love to live. I am falling more in love with life every day. I want to leave this world better than I found it and I want each adventure I choose to go on to make me better than I was when I first began. I am awesome... get to know me and you'll agree!

PHILOSOPHY

Live your life to the best of your abilities so that you never have the opportunity to look back; let alone look back with regrets. Pursue your passions, no matter where it may take you. Don't be afraid to dream and to make that dream a reality. Be a positive force of good so that you bring light to those around you. Don't be afraid to go against the status quo. Eject the word 'can't' from your vocabulary. Love yourself and love others. Never be so deep that you drown with no one around to save you, but never be so shallow that people can just walk all over you. Have a backbone but be flexible. Know the world does not revolve around you, but you are one reason the world evolves. Every experience is a lesson; it's either for you to learn something or for others to learn something from you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I joined I donated because I feel this is a project I can believe in. I'm a surfer and when I'm not traveling so much myself, I will be elated to open up a couch or a bedroom to any wonderful traveler!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love action, romance, drama, suspense, mystery, documentary and historical (fiction and non-fiction) novels. Some of my favorite authors are John Grisham, James Patterson, Beverly Jenkins, Kay Hooper, Iris Johansen, Ted Dekker, Brenda Jackson, Lisa Gardner and Tess Gerritsen. I have read many books by other authors, really too many to name, but some that have changed my outlook on life are The Ultimate Gift by Jim Stovall and The Alchemist by Paullo Coelho.

I love music. I can listen to classical, rap, R&B, jazz, pop, country, old school, international and more. I, however, cannot do hard rock n' roll or techno for too long!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have climbed the Great Wall of China, been to the top of the Eiffel Tower, worshipped with family in a township of South Africa, walked The Avenue des Champs-Élysées during the day and la Rue St-Denis at night and saw some interesting things in both places. I've also been to Buckingham Palace (outside of course). I have traveled all over the US but there's so much more to do and see. I've only just begun!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have learned it's okay to travel to a country if you don't know the language. If you know a little English you can get by because someone, somewhere knows it too. Also, a travel book is nice to carry with you as well as a positive attitude.
Read up on local culture so you're not as shocked and you're not offensive to others.

I have a lot more to learn, I just don't know what yet!

Countries I’ve Visited

China, France, Japan, South Africa, South Korea, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

China, United States
