About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to spend time taking in some of the finer details of travel, rather than just one big picture. I love exploring markets and all the side streets of each place I go, rather than focusing on the 'must-see' tourist attractions

ABOUT ME

I'm originally from the Yarra Valley, the wine region of Melbourne, Australia. I currently live near the beach now, about half an hour from the city.

I love animals (especially dogs - I'm a dog trainer), the beach, reading, singing, dancing, trying new places to eat good food and drink good wine, catching up with friends, meeting new people, and of course, travelling :)

I am currently travelling through Europe with my partner, and we are looking to get some couch surfer accomodation in places such as Tuscany, Venice in Italy, Berne in Switzerland, Munich and Berlin in Germany and Stockholm in Sweden. If anyone can give us any tips on travelling via Couch Surfing as a couple, that would be awesome!

PHILOSOPHY

"Everything happens for a reason."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have not had the pleasure of staying with anyone from this site as yet, but I'm travelling with my partner and we have recently joined with the hopes of catching up with some fellow travellers who are in the same position as us - travelling around Europe on a budget.

We want to hear all about others' experiences, and we are more than happy to catch up with people who are in the same city, whether it's at an official Couch Surfing event or otherwise.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Technically it would be my first time using 'Couch Surfing' though on this trip so far, I have had some experience staying with someone in Paris, France. However, that was arranged via a different site. I would much prefer to use Couch Surfing from now on :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Angus and Julia Stone, Lior, David Gray, Gotye, Josh Rouse, Jewel - basically anything with guitar, piano and violin. But I'm open to many different styles generally.

Movies: Because I said so, V for Vendetta, Gone with the Wind, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Bridget Jones' Diary, The truth about cats and dogs, Pride and Prejudice - heaps more, way too many to mention.

Books: I tend to like chic-literature (sorry peeps!) but I also love a good non-fiction book on dogs/dog training, craft/creativity/art, sustainable living ideas etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing Amsterdam at night was probably one of the most amazing things I have seen so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to teach a Burmese refugee English, so I can certainly help people with their English.

When I'm back in Australia: I'm generally happy to show people around various areas of Melbourne and not just the CBD, including driving them to places if I have the time/petrol :P So far I have shown a few travellers around, particularly from: England, Ireland, France and America. I'm open to anyone who wants to come see Melbourne, it's a great city :)
