About Me

I am 23 going on 24 this year (2017) and 2 years ago I have finally discovered the wonders of backpacking.

Living in Israel for 6 months had taught me to be a little more independent and reminded me to always keep an open mind and stay a little bit out of your comfort zone. That was how I ended up going on my first solo backpacking trip (3 weeks in Europe).

Since then, I had definitely caught the travel bug and continued my travelling journey by backpacking to Vietnam (3 weeks), Italy + Israel (1 month) then China (where I taught left behind children and lived there for 1.5 months).

The longer I was away from home, the more i appreciated it. Travelling to various countries had also provided me ideas on how I can improve my country. Through my travels in Europe, I discovered that the concept of having a free walking tour for tourists was really awesome but unfortunately we barely have these options for tourists in Singapore. Furthermore, backpackers have the notion that Singapore is an expensive and boring country, which was why most of them either opt out Singapore when they travel to South East Asia or choose to stay here for a couple of days because they are here to transit to other countries.

As such, as a local who is born and raised in Singapore, I aspire to show travellers why I think Singapore is a kick ass country - by bringing you guys around for free! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe the best way to discover Singapore is through its locals, where we are able to show you our culture, the slang we speak and how we live together with different races and religions in harmony. Also, I want to show the world that Singapore is more that just a transit country - it is more interesting than you think. :)
