About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to learn as much as possible and to see as much as possible. saving the world is on the list, too.

ABOUT ME

I HATE self-summaries. No matter what I write down I always feel like I completely misrepresent myself.

Besides, as High Fidelity tells us, it's not what you're like, but what you like. . . so here are a list of things I'm interested in. . .

*ACTIVISM
*pin-up modeling
*dancing
*writing for my feminist website, but also the occasional poem or short story
*compassion. . . essentially what gives my life meaning
*food (every stage; cooking, baking, and of course eating)
*sarcasm
*music
*working out
*debating (all the time, I love it!)
*creating things (collages, making ugly, simple, everyday things pretty or interesting)
*movies, movies, movies
*transcendentalism
*existentialism (I love me some Sartre!)
*any kind of philosophy
*reading- I always have a book with me in case I get bored!
*Feminism. Naomi Wolf is a Goddess, and I look up to both Betty Friedan and Bettie Page :)

I've left a lot out.

PHILOSOPHY

Living Authentically basically sums it up.

It is so important to me that I feel that I'm genuinely living the way I want to. This means fighting for what I'm passionate about, and truly helping people.

I am VERY passionate about women's rights and LGBT rights, which I think are very much connected to begin with.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I created this on a whim because I needed a place to stay when I visited grad schools.

While I can't offer a couch at the moment, I would love to again in the future, and I like to surf when I need to travel for random adventures.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to have a negative couchsurfing experience (knocking on wood right now). It is amazing!

The first thing that comes to mind is seeing the Mayan pyramids in the Yucatan. A very humbling experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am great at working with kids. I've worked with at-risk youth and it has been an amazing learning experience.

I am trying to bring activism to my community, and I would love to learn from someone on their experiences in activism.
