About Me

CURRENT MISSION

volunteering my way around the world. http://uprooted.jessicareeder.com

ABOUT ME

I'm 30 & awesome. I can sing but not dance, and I'm good with scissors.

More to the point: I'm an independent travel writer, focusing on cheap/free/environmentally-responsible ways to get around the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Trying to find my way off the grid for good. I believe very strongly in personal responsibility, ethical comportment, and the impact of small actions. I'd like to find myself outside of the United States very soon, building an off-grid home where I can raise my food and continue to write, create, and live a full life on my own terms.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I'm on an extended (hopefully RTW) eco-travel project, so no couch. As soon as I land somewhere, I'll build a guest room for ya.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been sharing my living spaces with random friends for years&years; CouchSurfing seemed like the logical next step. I'm just getting started as a surfer, but so far:
- Fabulous highrise digs & beer tour of Denver
- Swimming & housepainting in Hot Springs, Arkansas
- A fun&free ride with two beautiful ladies headed to Louisville.

Interests

I like elephants, goats, cheese, and adventures. Sometimes I also like fire and whiskey and metal art. I am secretly engaged to my computer screen.
