About Me

Hello all!

My name is Jessica, but you can call me Jess! I was born and raised in New York City and currently reside there. I know this city inside and out and I am more than happy to show anyone around the city. Because I grew up here, I try to make a trip at least once a month to a different city or town on the east coast to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city. Who doesn't need a break every now and then?

I studied psychology and language at Queens College, in the near future, I would like to travel South America; so that I can work on my Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. After that I may want to pursue a masters degree in human resources, but I am open to any change that may come my way as well. I also am a student athlete, I have been fencing for about 2 years and love it! I work with the social expression group on my university's campus to promote positive social identity and healthy sex education.

I love to travel! I try to take every opportunity I get to go somewhere and work two jobs so that I always make sure that I am financially secure. Life is an adventure and we should enjoy the journey to wherever it may take us. I love cooking, in my culture, food is very important, if you want I would be more than happy to cook you something, I usually pack spices when I travel. I like to practice my language skills as often as possible so if you want to speak to me in either Spanish, Italian or Portuguese feel free to! I grew up in NYC so fashion is a big part of my life, I like to add little things to clothing I own and make them have a little splash of myself.

I am an open book and if there are any questions you may have for me feel free to shot me a message!

I also wrote a children’s book that is in both English and Spanish, feel free to check it out if you want!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I love listening to SZA and Jhene Aiko (their albums describe 2017 for me). I listen to a lot of music from Brazil! Anitta, MC Zaac, Pabllo Vittar, etc.I am really big on Latino beats and listen to artists such as J Balvin, Becky G, Karol G, THE Selena and many more! I love anything dancehall. Music has no language for me so I don't mind hearing music in a language that I don't understand as long as I can dance to it! R&B, Hip Hop and anything that sounds trippy.

Movies- Sunny (Korean Film), Room, The Breakfast Club, Girl in Progress, Wolf of Wallstreet, Waking Life, For Keeps, REC, The Truman Show, Juno, Black Swan, Bridget Jones Diary, Mad Max: Fury Road, Inside Out, Toy Story 3, Slumdog Millionaire, Hidden Figures, Mean Girls, Fruitvale Station, Spotlight, Jurassic Park, Girls Trip, Ready Player One

Books- Before I Die, The Kingdoms Keepers, Diary of a Teenage Girl, Change of Heart, Ten Things We Did, Daughters of the Moon, The Bloody Manner, Women at Point Zero, Girls & Sex

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I one time travelled to two different countries in a weekend, Germany Saturday then Belgium the next and it was really exhausting but fun!

Teach, Learn, Share

Share - I am open to showing you all over NYC! I can show you all the tourist attractions but, I can also show you a few hidden places in NYC that only the locals know about!

Learn - If you know Spanish, Italian or Portuguese and want to practice as much as I can. I would love to learn about different cultures from the food to the history. I’m open to any and everything!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook and wouldn't mind making a nice dish, I am open to having interesting conversations about social issues or speaking in another language. I am always down to play a card game, I recently got into fashion and find making clothing similar to painting; I would be more thank happy to show you how to make certain things. I also I am certified in bartending and can make a really nice drink!
