About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Mission is to make friends, share laughs and memories, and make my tiny wallet go as far as I can while in Europe

ABOUT ME

My name is Jessica, I have just turned 25 years old and this is going to be my first backpacking trip. I lived in Thailand for 10 months, teaching for half the time and bartending for the other half of the time. I currently live in China and teach middle school English.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is to not hold on to pain for more than a few seconds, but to have a firm grasp on pleasure and happiness. I love being happy, seeing this beautiful world, and making amazing friends that teach me lessons. Without allowing negativity to manifest in my life, I have overcome hurdles I never thought I would. I'm here to travel this world, spread the cheer, and inspire/be inspired by everyone I meet.

Music, Movies, and Books

As far as books go, my guilty pleasure is YA literature. Otherwise, I often immerse myself in short stories and personal memoirs from my favorite authors (david sedaris, augusten burroughs, chelsea handler). I could go on for days talking about music. I love anything EDM. Trance is my favorite genre of all. I'm also a huge hip-hop/rap fan, love to dance. When it comes to movies, I am obsessed with horror movies. I love all dark and twisted movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The coolest thing I've done was live on Koh Phangan and manage a hostel/bar near the beach. Island life was amazing and it gave me the opportunity to live amongst backpackers and meet people from all walks of life. Favorite experience, hands down. Also love skydiving and scuba diving!

Teach, Learn, Share

Other then the travel destination, don't make any plans! Leave the book open on your itinerary; you could meet some really great locals that can show you hidden gems.

Traveling with people you have just met is quite possibly the beginning to some of the greatest friendships ever.

Be spontaneous. Its OK to not follow your original plan, but rather to go with what feels right instead of what you have written down on paper.

Countries I’ve Visited
