About Me

ABOUT ME

My boyfriend (Adam) and I met as students in England (we're English) and now work as English teachers in the Université Grenoble-Alpes in Grenoble, France. I discovered couchsurfing when I was living Bilbao (Spain) a couple of years ago and was able to travel around a lot, and it was such a wonderful thing, it really opened my eyes to a new way of life. Both of us love teaching and learning, and we love all that is languages/ literature/ culture/ music/ art/ films/etc... we love hiking and nature (we live in the middle of three spectacular Alpine mountain ranges!!) ...most of all we love experiencing new things, meeting new people, hearing their stories and making new friendships!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Every time I've encountered this world of Couchsurfing, be it travelling (I've couchsurfed in a few places around Spain) or meeting fellow couchsurfers along the way, it has been powerfully positive and changed my outlook on life in some way or other. There are more or less 7 billion people sharing this planet, each with a story to tell. I suppose couchsurfing helps us share and write those stories with eachother?

Music, Movies, and Books

Paco de Lucía, Perota Chingó, Calle 13, Jamie Cullum, Django Reinhardt, David Bowie, Bjork, Bjork again for good measure, Nouvelle Vague, Anouk Aiata, Corinne Bailey-Rae, Anoushka Shankar..... Satie, Chopin, Couperin, Faure.... pretty much any Renaissance Choral Music.... Cookie Dingler, Heaven 17.... I could go on forever ..

AND movies AND books???!! I'm tired of listing but I love those things too! The last movie I really loved was Almodovar's Julieta and the last book, L'élégance du hérisson by Muriel Barbery.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

"Respirar es arriesgar" ('La Vida', Calle 13)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Adam is a great cook and can rustle up some beautiful dishes, especially British classics (his fish pie is YUMMY) and French/ Spanish cuisine ...! I am less talented in the kitchen but can offer some English/ Spanish/ French lessons ;-) and I love singing so can sing you a song if you like!! ;-) And of course both of us can offer our keen conversation!!
