I am a university senior on the road to my PhD. I want to teach English in a European university, and travel the world in my spare time. I love traveling alone, because it makes me feel stronger than anything I've ever done. New cultures are addicting. New people are fascinating. I hope to immerse myself in the unknown as long as there is an unknown deep enough.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I travel to live. To live is to have connections. I think that traveling without getting to meet the people who inhabit the places you want to experience is no experience at all. Couch surfing facilitates new friendships and an intriguing cultural exchange.

Interests

I love horseback riding, reading, hiking, rock climbing, running, mountain biking, and good food. I am always up for cooking. I love my cat, Sophia.

Music, Movies, and Books

I will listen to pretty much any music, especially if it's a live venue. I prefer older artists, folk, and blues. Cheryl Strayed, Emerson, Brené Brown, David Sedaris, Jane Austen, Maria Snyder, Tolkien, C.S Lewis, Robert Frost and many others are included in my list of favorite authors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bought a plane ticket to Europe for six months without planning even a day of the trip. It was fantastic and spontaneous and I survived.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook, so I am always happy to prepare a meal. Also, I am studying English at university, so if I am ever in a non-English speaking country and someone is in need of lessons I am happy to help. I can sew, and am pretty decent at home repairs. Also, I would always be glad to enjoy a cup of tea and discuss literary opinions or just life in general. A hike through the woods to an inspecting view is always worth the trouble.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can train horses, walk your dogs, cook you a Texan breakfast that will make you useless and happy for the remainder of your day. I can make you a cup of tea and pick your mind about the world. I can share stories in exchange for stories over a nice pint.
