About Me

I grew up in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and still maintain that it is one of the most beautiful places ever. It helped me develop a love for rivers, lightning bugs, pumpkins, and hospitality. Virginia is indeed for lovers. But I also love to travel to see new places and experience new things. I am a food and beverage enthusiast who loves the outdoors. I can have fun doing anything from going out to bars to just sitting on the front porch chatting the day away. A few words to describe me: positive, patient, chill, adaptable.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing for the same reason I prefer hitch hiking to buses: you always get a good story and connections out of it and it's never boring! I would much rather take chances on meeting amazing people than taking the easy way and getting a hotel (yawn!). It takes a certain kind of person to sign up for Couchsurfing and my theory is that most people on here are adventurous, accommodating and interesting. And that, my friends, is the kind of people that make life entertaining. For now I can only do the surfing, but when I'm in a position to host, you can bet I will!

Interests

Anything outdoors or having to do with food. But really I'm down for anything.

  • dining
  • beer
  • traveling

  • hiking
  • surfing
  • rivers

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm all over the place with music, anything from folk americana to EDM. I'm all about live shows and concerts though. I have a mild obsession with Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and anything Disney and/or Pixar. My favorite movie is Big Fish. I'm a painfully slow reader and wish I had time to read more books, but I do read every issue of National Geographic cover to cover.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed MOUNT DOOM!!
