About Me

I'm Jessie. I hail from Maryland and am currently attending West Virginia University in Morgantown and I absolutely love it! I'm learning to play the ukulele, it's probably my favorite instrument to listen to, it just sounds so happy! My friends call me a hippie, and I've begun to accept it.
I haven't traveled far from home but the distances I have traveled have been well explored. I've got big dreams of travelling, and I'm planning to study abroad next year:)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people, and hearing their stories, it's what I live for! And who knows the area better than the locals? I hope to someday welcome couchsurfers to stay with me, but as of right now, that's not very possible.

Interests

I'm a total psychology nut, it's what I'm studying here at WVU. I'm also declaring minors in anthropology and religious studies. Anyone and everyone has something interesting about them and I have something to learn from all of them.
I'm a huge fan of Buddhism, I've been practicing for nearly 2 years. I wouldn't call it a religion, it's more of just a way of living. Religions of the East and indigenous religions are very interesting to me and I hope to someday research and experience them first-hand. I've been in love with the study of psychology for as long as I can remember, then learning about Buddhism opened my mind to completely new ways of life which then sparked an interest in cultural anthropology. but yeah, I love cats, big dogs, I'm an ice cream FIEND, an avid tea drinker, and a sweater collector.

Music, Movies, and Books

Richard Brautigan is currently my favorite author, he has such a way with words.
I'm a big big fan of old music; FRANK SINATRA(ooo bby), Louis Armstrong, Rolling Stones, Beastie Boys, Van Halen, Bob Dylan, Sublime, Weezer, Chet Baker, good ole Ludwig van and Wolfgang Amadeus, Ramones, Flaming Lips, Coeur de Pirate, Beach Boys, Amy Winehouse, I never know who to name honestly. I love it all.
OH MAN do I love movies. Pretty much anything with Zooey Deschanel, Al Pacino, Tina Fey or Meryl Streep. I love independent movies, you know the ones that are just heart warmingly bizarre. J'adore the classics like The Blues Brothers, The Godfather(the first one), Tommy Boy, Caddy Shack, et cetera~

ALSO I'm a sucker for anything by Stanley Kubrick--his directing is most genius.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've learned not to cry when I stub my toe so thats good

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to teach to live without harsh judgement, learn to live without worry, and share anything that I can offer.

What I Can Share with Hosts
